Take me down
Take me down to a level
where happiness does not evade,
crossing bridges close to the water’s edge
where I can feel the grasp of nature so it does not evade me.
Take me down to a level of understanding
of what bellows inside without fear
abiding amidst sparrows that fly between barns
and the heart of you.
Take me into a level of breadth in humanity
where I can bestow upon me the wreath of trying
perhaps, one day, conquest.
Take me forth each day now, how it must feel
to wake and wonder with fresh eyes at day’s unfolding
pluck mine eyes and replace them with new found love,
for life and all that it contains.
Show me secrets of abandonment of doubt
and insecurity help me be secure in provisions
of life help me feel secure free of the nonsensical
mind that tortures the soul with the what if’s
with the misfortunes awaiting.
Take me down to that level,
and let me be.
